Open Studio SessionsMondays from 9-noon New York City
Our training in Natural Horsemanship has led us to devise a body of studio work that translates the equine behavior and natural horsemanship ground skills into dance-making. We have developed a physical training and conditioning process that focuses on moving in the horizontal, finding the pelvic floor, shaping space three-dimensionally. We have devised scores that heighten spatial awareness and scores that enable us to work as a team even when out in huge pasture. We have developed a distinct approach to generating movement ideas and shaping them choreographically.

CRS (Center for Remembering & Sharing) Presents two short films about dancing with animals: "The Equus Projects Documentary" created by JoAnna Mendl Shaw (Gabe Bienczycki, cinematography) and "Together: Dancing with Spinner Dolphins" by Chisa Hidaka and Dolphin Dance Project. Although their stages are different — field and sea — they share the ability to commune with the animals around them. Both artists will appear in person to show additional footage as well as preview their next projects. Following the screenings, we invite you to stay for a short, informal conversation with the artists. Fee: purchase $10 tickets at CRS website (link above)

We are No Longer StrangersMonday, September 27th OpenPlans Penthouse
We are No Longer Strangers is the culmination of 2 1/2 years of investigation and analysis from The Field's four ERPA projects. The Equus Projects is one of those projects. Our ERPA funding was in support of developing regional hubsites for our work in the Pacific NW (Seattle), Texas (Aubrey/Denton), Florida (Ocala/Gainesville) and Montana (Helena/Bozeman).The September 27th event is a moderated panel. This promises to be a fascinating evening! campaign.r20.constantcontact.com/render
